What is the price of Tata select equity fund (G)?
What is NAV?
Both of this are same?
The price and the NAV are not the same. There is a 2.25% front end load to buy the fund. That is the price is that much higher than the NAV. The NAV is about 59.9709 as of 5/3/2008

mutual fund prices (updated) don’t post until after the market closes. After the market closes for the day the NAVs are tallied and the new prices posted.

For example, assume that an investor is already invested in a particular fund and has met the fund’s minimum initial investment amount (to open the account).
Assume that the fund has a $100 minimum additional investment requirement for any subsequent purchases. If the investor sends the fund a check for $75, would the fund actually refuse to accept it?
I think I remember reading an article some time ago that said that a mutual fund is very unlikely to refuse any money that an investor would send after their account is open, even if it is below the minimum additional investment amount.
The problem is that it is unfair to the other investors because processing a lot of small payments adds to expenses which are shared by all fund investors.
Some waive the minimum if payment sent electronically.
